[Dr Oskar Karczewski]

Welcome to my website

I’m the Head of Research and Innovation at the Polish Space Agency (POLSA). We work at the interface of academia, industry and public administration to:

  • support the development of products and services of the future, capitalising on unique Polish know-how in deep tech,
  • strengthen Poland’s flight heritage, develop capabilities in aerospace and fuel scientific discovery,
  • negotiate Poland’s presence in large scientific and technological projects,
  • facilitate scientific and industrial collaboration,
  • identify opportunities and make recommendations to the government.

In my early career, I studied high complexity astronomical systems through observations of the past, unbiased data processing and careful modelling. This background has equipped me with a strong awareness of the data selection bias as well as an ability to work with highly abstract ideas. Today, I create strategies and programmes for the Polish space sector, and I specialise in complex and unusual projects.
